From 1 June 2026, a campus licence will provide access to six new journals from Human Kinetics (as well as remote access via VPN).

Following consultation with the Institute of Kinesiology, Sport and Health, the University Library Graz will, from 1 June 2026, licence the following ‘Human Kinetics’ online journals, which will be accessible on campus and remotely via VPN:

  • Adapted Physical Activity Quarterly (APAQ): from Volume 1, Issue 1 (1984) to the present
  • Journal of Teaching in Physical Education (JTPE): from Volume 1, Issue 1 (1981) to the present
  • International Sport Coaching Journal (ISCJ): from Volume 1, Issue 1 (2014) to the present
  • Kinesiology Review: from Volume 1, Issue 1 (2012) to the present
  • Sport History Review: from Volume 1, Issue 1 (1970) to the present
  • Journal of Sport and Exercise Psychology (JSEP): from Volume 1, Issue 1 (1979) to the present

About Human Kinetics Journals:

Human Kinetics was founded in 1974 by Rainer Martens (then a professor of kinesiology at the University of Illinois) and his wife, Marilyn. Five years later, they published their first journal, the “Journal of Sport and Exercise Psychology” (now fully licenced by the University Library Graz).

The “Human Kinetics Journals” broadly categorise their content into the following six subject areas:

  • Sport & Exercise Science/Kinesiology
  • Psychology & Behaviour in Sport/Exercise
  • Social Studies in Sport & Physical Activity
  • Physical Education & Coaching
  • Athletic Training, Therapy & Rehabilitation
  • Sport Business & Sport Management

For further information, please see: Human Kinetics – About Us

Access and use:

  • Access is available to University of Graz staff and students across the campus and via VPN (for remote access). To use the uniVPN client (Cisco AnyConnect), please enter https://univpn.uni-graz.at/ub in the address field.
  • The content may only be used for academic research and educational purposes. Any commercial use is expressly prohibited. Please note the provider’s terms and conditions (Human Kinetics Journals).
