Publishing in Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) journals

Association for Computing Machinery (ACM)

Until the end of 2029, University of Graz affiliates can publish Open Access in Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) journals under a consortial agreement.

About ACM

The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) is the world’s largest computing society of its kind. It serves over 100,000 members worldwide in companies and research institutions across both established and emerging sectors of the software, hardware and IT industries. It provides print and online content that serves as an authoritative source of industry knowledge for its members and can assist them in their research and professional careers. 

Publishing in ACM:

The agreement (negotiated through the Austrian Academic Library Consortium (KEMÖ)) between the University Library Graz and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) now offers Corresponding Authors from the University of Graz free and uncomplicated Open Access publishing in selected ACM journals.

From 1 January 2026, all ACM publications are published Open Access (OA) and can be read, shared and reused free of charge in the ACM Digital Library (DL).

Reading ACM content:

University of Graz staff and students can access the full content, including all features, of the expanded ACM Digital Library (DL). The complete ACM portfolio includes: 

  • over 50 peer-reviewed journals

  • 7 magazines featuring articles, news and opinions from industry experts in computer and information technology

  • proceedings from over 170 conferences, workshops and symposia   

  • newsletters from ACM Special Interest Groups

  • websites 

  • multimedia files

(Please note: Access to the ACM Books Collections (https://dl.acm.org/acmbooks) is not included in this agreement.)

The ACM Digital Library (DL) contains the following subject areas:

  • artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing

  • society and the computing profession

  • networks and communications

  • human computer interaction

  • computational theory, algorithms and mathematics

  • information systems, search, information retrieval, database systems, data mining, data science

  • applied computing: industry/business, physical sciences, life sciences, education, law, forensics, arts/humanities, entertainment

  • architecture, embedded systems and electronics, robotics

  • security and privacy

  • web, mobile and multimedia technologies

  • graphics and computer-aided design

  • hardware, power and energy

  • software engineering and programming languages

Open Science Day Graz, 12.06.2026

The Open Science Day 2026 is already the third installment of this event at the University of Graz (following two events in 2020 and 2022) organized by the Graz Open Science Initiative. In the morning session, several speakers will map the “Landscape of Open Science”. The noon session will focus on the topic “Reproducibility and Error Culture”. In the afternoon session, three parallel workshops will engage interested researchers in diverse Open Science related topics. The event is OPEN for EVERYONE!
