Terms of use for licensed Thieme e-books
All persons who, as members of the university, are to be counted as licensees within the meaning of the Universities Act 2002 - including temporary guest visitors for the duration of their affiliation - who are located at the licensee's sites when using the eRef textbooks or who are permitted access to the licensed content via the licensee's network, as well as walk-in users, are authorized to use the eRef textbooks of Thieme Publishing.
Authorized individuals may create notes as part of their institutional access to the eRef textbooks and make them visible to other eRef users*. The insertion of patient information or other personal data within the meaning of the European Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the insertion of copyrighted material without appropriate permission in these notes as part of the use of the eRef platform is not permitted.
The persons authorized to use may have the licensed works displayed in the form of read-only access and may also save or print out individual articles and other elements locally in an appropriate number for individual use; any storage in electronic or electromagnetic form going beyond this and any reproduction going beyond this - including of parts - are excluded.
The licensed works are protected by copyright. Any further use or transfer of rights of use requires the prior written consent of the publisher.
Requests for licensing permission - such as for the use of an illustration from the textbooks as part of a conference presentation - should be addressed to permission(at)thieme.de or Georg Thieme Verlag KG Licenses. Rüdigerstr. 14, 70469 Stuttgart, Germany
Authorized persons must always include appropriate source citations when using figures, tables or other content, such as:
