Accessing electronic media
Staff and students of the University of Graz have various possibilities to access purchased or licensed e-books, e-journals or databases .
For almost all electronic resources the following applies: They can be used not only in the rooms of the university, but also location-independently, from off campus via VPN (Virtual Private Network).
Please install the uniVPN client (Cisco AnyConnect) on your end device. This is necessary because access to some resources via the UniVPN portal does not work.
Important: Please enter https://univpn.uni-graz.at/ub in the address field of the VPN before logging in.
At the campus
At the PC workstations on campus, you have access to all electronic media such as e-journals, e-books and databases without VPN. For most e-resources, access is controlled automatically in the background by checking the IP address of the computer used.
WLAN
In addition, employees and students can also access electronic resources on the premises of the University of Graz with their own laptop via the WLAN network.
UB@home
Employees and students of the University of Graz have worldwide access to electronic media by using a VPN (Virtual Private Network). More information and instructions on how to install a VPN client can be found on the uniIT pages.
An introduction can be found in our video tutorial"Using e-resources from home - VPN access".
Non-University
Students of other universities, pupils and private persons with a library card have the possibility to access most of the electronic media at the PCs of the university library.
Access from outside the university library is not permitted for licensing reasons!
