Graz University Library Publishing enables researchers at the University of Graz to publish quality-assured Open Access books free of charge, making them freely accessible online anywhere in the world. The publication service has recently been accepted into the AG Universitätsverlage (University Publishers Working Group) following a review of all relevant quality criteria. The AG Universitätsverlage brings together 32 institutional publishers from Germany, Austria, Italy and Switzerland, committed to a common set of principles: academic excellence, science-friendly rights policies, Open Access, transparent processes and a non-profit orientation. In addition to networking and the exchange of ideas, the members of the working group also see it as a core task to cooperate in establishing positions on the transformation of Open Access and institutional publishing. The “Quality Standards for Open Access Monographs and Anthologies” (German only) set a new standard that many research funders now use as the basis for their criteria catalogues.
Graz University Library Publishing’s high standards reflect the strict quality requirements of the AG Universitätsverlage. Admission to the AG is an important recognition of our work and commitment to high-quality scholarly publication, and it confirms the high quality of the books we publish.
