Why do we need language? Is human language unique? And, if so, what makes it so different from the languages of other living creatures?
Christian Braun is a linguist at the University of Graz who has been studying the phenomenon of language for many years. He will be presenting his reflections and findings in several thematically organised volumes. The first part of this initial volume looks at how language relates to the world in general. The second part deals with the evolution of language. A must-have for professionals, students and language enthusiasts!
The volume has now been published by Graz University Library Publishing and is available for download free of charge.
