The XV Congress of the International Association of German Studies (IVG) took place at the University of Graz from 20 to 27 July. Graz University Library Publishing had the opportunity to showcase its work at a book exhibition held during the congress. This renowned conference, which only takes place every five years, is one of the largest German Studies conferences worldwide, with approximately 1,300 participants. The book exhibition provided a platform for numerous renowned publishers, such as De Gruyter, Taylor & Francis, and Springer, as well as smaller specialist publishers. As the publisher of the conference proceedings, Graz University Library Publishing was also represented with an information stand, which provided an ideal opportunity to get in touch with potential authors and present its own publication services. Visitors from abroad showed a particular interest in the volumes published to date, especially „Über Sprache“ („On Language“) by Prof. Dr. Christian Braun, one of the conference's co-organisers.
The stand also served as a contact point for University of Graz members to find out about the services offered by Graz University Library Publishing and to discuss new publication projects. The stand was staffed by Lisa Schilhan and Elisabeth Stadler, who not only had plenty of conversations, but also gained valuable ideas for the design of future congress stands.
