For a trial period lasting until 31 March 2026, Graz University Library is offering campus-wide access to Oxford LawPro, a sub-section of the Oxford Academic platform. Members of the University of Graz can also access the platform remotely via VPN. There is no need to log in separately on the Oxford website.
About Oxford Academic
Oxford Academic is OUP’s (Oxford University Press) academic research platform, providing access to over 50,000 books and 500 journals.
Oxford Academic AI Discovery Assistant: The beta version is now available for you to use. This tool is an AI assistant that can process entire sentences and questions. It generates a list of ten literature references from the Oxford Academic platform that match your input, then generates a two-sentence summary for each one, based on the available abstracts. The AI assistant does not save chats (conversation histories).
About Oxford LawPro
The Oxford LawPro sub-platform is specifically designed for legal queries and contains over 9,000 specialist journals and 600 books. Its practice areas are:
Arbitration, Litigation, and Dispute Settlement
Competition Law
Financial, Corporate, and Commercial Law
International Law and International Organizations
Technology, Intellectual Property, and Media Law
Oxford LawPro's availability filter lets you search only for content that is available to you.
Oxford LawPro AI Research Assistant: The beta version is now available for you to use. This tool is a LawPro-specific AI assistant which uses only LawPro content to generate responses (see the FAQs for more on response generation). To ensure that the tool is used appropriately, the provider has imposed the following restrictions:
- Prompt length is limited to 750 characters
- Documents cannot be uploaded to prompts
- Response generation is restricted to content licenced by your library/organisation
Unlike the Oxford Academic AI Discovery Assistant described above, the Oxford LawPro AI Research Assistant does not generate a list of literature matching the input; instead, it generates a response text that matches the input and lists the sources used alongside it.
The AI assistant does not save chats (conversation histories). The AI tool does not perform web searches. Oxford LawPro does not include the primary texts of court rulings. Every AI generation tool comes with the risk of hallucinations (see the FAQs for more information).
Notes and further information
