What constitutes an artificial human? What role do the imaginings and fictions of artificially created humans play in our understanding of ourselves, especially in light of the growing presence of humanoids in our daily lives? In this anthology, the two editors, Barbara Reiter and Anne-Kathrin Reulecke, explore these and other questions. Authors from the fields of German Studies, Media Studies, Philosophy and Sociology analyse representations and narratives of human–robot interaction in novels and films.
