November is traditionally marked by Movember, a movement that aims to raise awareness of men's health issues – from prostate cancer and mental health to prevention in general. But while many men grow moustaches to make a statement, Movember also reminds us that health is not a question of gender. Physical and mental health care concerns us all. This is where the Media Library of the University Library of Graz comes in, inviting you to explore the topic of health in all its facets with a diverse selection of informative and moving DVDs.
The Media Library contains numerous titles that inspire courage, impart knowledge, and encourage reflection. A small selection: The documentary “Diagnosis Cancer: You Always Have a Chance” shows how important hope and individual paths to healing are. “Talking with Cancer Patients – Dealing with the Inevitable” highlights the sensitive exchange between those affected and their relatives, while “Eating You Alive – The End of Your Chronic Suffering” emphasizes the importance of nutrition and lifestyle for health. “Your Holistic Back Training” ensures physical balance, and “Sleep as a Source of Strength” reminds us how essential rest is for health. Hope for medical progress is conveyed in “Fighting Cancer – New Weapons, New Hope”, while “Cancer – The Business of Fear: Dangerous Consequences of Alternative Treatment” critically examines how illness and fear are dealt with. Whether it's prevention, exercise, or conscious lifestyle choices – health concerns us all: taking care of it is important, regardless of gender or age.
