What are the issues that define the work of libraries today? How can libraries establish themselves as centres for transferring knowledge and technology? Answers to these and many other questions were discussed by over 900 professionals from public, academic and school libraries and related disciplines at the 1st Austrian Library Congress in 2023. The contributions to this volume shed light on the relationship between digital and analogue work, the effects of working from home and distance learning, and the role of libraries as places for knowledge and technology transfer. Focal topics such as the library as a place of work, training and further education, as well as innovative services and use of space, reflect the current debates and forward-looking approaches that characterise the library sector today.
The volume has now been published by Graz University Library Publishing and is available for download free of charge as a complete PDF document or as individual chapters.
