E-Books on Demand (EOD)

With the eBooks on Demand service, you can order the book you have selected as a digital edition

The EOD service is offered both through the search engine unikat and through the image catalog, through which most of the library's copyright-free holdings are available. To order a work as an e-book, use the button with the EOD logo in the respective catalog. This will take you to an order form where you can request a no-obligation quote or place a direct order.

Only copyright-free works 70 years after the death of the author

You can order a digitization of any book from the holdings of the Main Library that is copyright-free (70 years after the author's death) and whose condition allows digitization. Only complete media units (volumes) are digitized - from cover to cover.

The offer

The book is excavated in the library and carefully scanned with high resolution on special book scanners. Subsequently, automatic text recognition is performed and the digital images are merged into a single file in PDF format. After online payment by credit card or Click&Buy, the eBook is immediately available for download.

EOD Network

With E-Books on Demand (EOD), rare books are digitized on demand throughout Europe. This service is operated within the EOD network , which consists of more than 30 libraries from over 15 European countries.
