Main Library

The main library contains literature holdings from all subject areas. It is a public, scientific library with large stacks and open access collections.

At the circulation desk, you pick up the books and copies that you have ordered from the stacks via unikat or requested via interlibrary loan. Your free library card will also be issued here.

At the main library there are open access collections that can be used by everyone on site.

Holdings that can only be used by students.

• 128 study and work stations (without sockets in the historical reading room, ground floor)
• 1 wheelchair workstation (historical reading room, ground floor)
• approx. 500 learning and workstations (mostly with power sockets, 3rd and 4th floors)
• 40 PC workstations (3rd floor)

Technical equipment:

• 1 self-checkout device in the textbook collection
• 4 multifunctional devices
• 4 book scanners and 1 scan tent - free of charge with USB stick or cell phone
• 4 tablets for using the press reader (3rd floor)
• Cashier machine (ground floor)
• WLAN

Checkroom

Lockers are available on the ground floor. You will need your UNIGRAZCard to use them.

The group rooms of the Main Library on the 3rd and 4th floors can be booked by students via webmail.

In the depot library in the north of Graz, there are currently about 350,000 journal and newspaper volumes as well as index works whose year of publication is mostly before the year 2000. Journal or newspaper articles can be ordered as a copy can be ordered via unikat.
