Profile
The History Library is an important service facility for scholars and students of the Institute of History. of the Institute of History. It is a public, scientific library with open access, i.e. the required media are freely accessible and can be taken from the shelves.
Collection focus
General modern history: Europe and the Atlantic world in the early modern period; historical museology; intelligence research.
General contemporary history: general contemporary history non-European; gender studies; Konrad Collection - history of the labor movement, cultural history.
History of the Middle Ages: gender studies; urban history; history of castles and settlements.
Culture and gender studies: bodies, sexualities and intimacies, humans and the environment, war and violence
Austrian history: Austria and Central Europe; modernity; cultural theories; collective identities and affiliations; transnational issues
Southeastern European history: Southeastern Europe in general; historical anthropology; family studies; Albanica.
Other areas: Historical regional studies and comparative regional history, economic and social history; historical auxiliary sciences; history of science; subject didactics.
Borrow and use media
Borrowing is only possible for textbooks, loan period 60 days, and textbooks, loan period 3 weeks. Furthermore, exceptional borrowing over the weekend or during vacations is possible.
